Description: An industrial customer in central BC required a new electrical service at their facility. Bench partnered with an electrical contractor to deliver this project to the customer as a design-build. As part of the required technical review, step and touch potentials for the grounding system were calculated. The need for additional insulating material on the surface was identified. This was necessary to keep personnel in the area safe, in the event of a ground fault. Crushed rock was placed over the ground conductors in the area of the service entrance and power transformer.
