Primary Service at a Residence

Description: A customer in central BC required an electrical service at their residence and farm. The distance from the closest utility powerline to the residence was approximately 1km. The distance made it impractical for a low-voltage (240 V) service, and so a high-voltage (14,400 V) service was utilized. The property had a partially constructed powerline which was not certified by an engineer, and therefore could not be connected to the utility. Bench partnered with an electrical contractor to deliver this project to the customer as a design-build. We were able to inspect the existing powerline and design the remaining work to be completed, allowing the existing installation to be utilized.
