A long-lasting, reliable electrical system begins with a good design. As a consulting engineer, we work with you from concept through construction, to implement the electrical system that best suits your project. A typical design process would consist of the following:

1. Concept Design: a high-level design enabling a budget estimate of the project, and review by the client for desired changes to any features or system layout.
2. Preliminary Design: a lower-level design enabling refinement of the initial estimate, procurement of any long-lead equipment, and further review by the client and other interested parties. For larger projects it is often beneficial to model the system using electrical simulation software, enabling Electrical Analysis to be performed on the preliminary design. This helps with the selection of an optimal system configuration for the detailed design stage.
3. Detailed Design: the production of documentation used by the construction crew in the construction of your project. The final cost estimate for the project, if necessary, would be based on the detailed design. Equipment locations and configurations are finalized. Changes to the design after the detailed design stage should be avoided as they incur several times the cost of design in previous stages.
4. Construction Support and Record Documentation: clarification of the project documentation is provided to the construction crew where necessary. Field reviews by the responsible engineer are provided to ensure the construction is substantially meeting the design. As-constructed information is recorded and submitted to the client on a set of record drawings.
